Motorola Officially Unveils The Moto X Smartphone

Motorola has officially unveiled its new smartphone which carries the name "Moto X" and running Android operating system, the smartphone has been developed jointly with Google, and it is considered the first smartphone produced by Motorola in collaboration with Google since Google's acquisition of Motorola in 2011.

  

Moto X smartphone powered by 1.7 GHz Motorola X8 processor, which is a modified version of the Snapdragon S4 Pro processor from "Qualcomm" company, this optimized processor to work better with Motorola devices.

  

Moto X has 2 GB of random access memory (RAM) and is available in two internal storages: 16 and 32 GB, and it has 4.7-inch 720p Super AMOLED display. 

  

Moto X has 10 megapixel rear camera with new technology called “Clear Pixel" developed by Motorola, and Motorola says that the new technology able to capture high-quality images compared to other cameras of smartphones, the device comes with  2 megapixel front-facing camera and works with 2200 mAh battery.

  

Moto X smartphone has some features different from the rest of the smartphones, you can choose the color and the design of your device, Motorola allows users choose from 18 different back colors, and 7 accent colors. You can also engrave your name or your e-mail in the back of the device.

  

On the software side, Moto X running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with the addition of number of Motorola features, such as the ability to control the smartphone without touching it, which rely on the use of voice commands, and Active Display feature that displays alerts on the screen, in addition to the Quick Capture feature in the camera that allows the camera to capture images quickly through shaking the smartphone twice.

The Specifications of the Moto X:

• 4.7 inch 720p HD AMOLED display (1280 x 720).
• 1.7 GHz Motorola X8 processor.
• 2 GB of RAM.
• 16 GB or 32 GB of internal  storage.
• 10 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera.
• 2,200mAh battery.
• Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The new smartphone will cost $199 with a new two year contract for the 16 GB version, and $250 for the 32 GB version also with a new two year contract.

The release date is not known yet, but there is some information stating that Moto X will be available in the end of August.
