IBM Developed Technology Allows Access to the Internet at Speed of 400 Gbps

IBM Company has developed a technology allows access to high-speed connection to the Internet, ranging from 200 to 400 Gbps.

Analog-to-digital converters developed by IBM

This technology was unveiled on Wednesday during the ISSCC conference in San Francisco city in, by Swiss researchers affiliated to the company.

The researchers pointed out that their technology relies on "analog-to-digital converters" ADC, which allows data centers to share data  faster four times than the highest speed available these days.

For example, this high-speed allows to download 160 GB, which is equivalent to the size of a movie with 4K resolution during only a few seconds.

The researchers reviewed a model of "analog-to-digital converter" that has been developed, which Semtech Corp company will use it in data transmission over fiber-optic for long distance, and in advanced radar systems, also expected that the new technology will be used in space research.

The transformers will be built to be used by the Semtech company according to the 32-nanometer technology, and it allow the nucleus of the converter to generate 128 billion Analog to Digital conversion process in the second, the consumption does not exceed 2.1 watts.

It is worth mentioning that these converters can work with those high speed without  consume unacceptable amounts of energy, according to the researcher "Pierre Andrea Francis".
