Nokia Plans to Launch its First Smartphone Running Android on the Market Next March.

Nokia Company intends to launch its first smartphone running Android operating system, and expected to be called "Nokia X", in the markets during March 2014. 


A news report mention that the company will launch a new smartphone within "Asha" series, which is low-cost phones offered by the company for emerging markets in particular.

Nokia did not give any information about the technical specifications of the new smartphone, but the device is expected to launch within the category of medium-spec phones.

Nokia intends support its new smartphone with 4 inch screen with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels, 5 megapixel camera, and a battery capacity of 1500 mAh.

It is expected that the phone will has 1 GHz dual-core processor,  512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of memory storage expandable via external memory card.


Nokia studying to provide the phone with special application store, where the phone will has modified version of Android operating system added to it some characteristics similar to the characteristics of the Windows Phone operating system, as the company intends to put it at a low price and the possibility of installing Dual SIM cards.
