Nokia Plans to Launch its First Smartphone Running Android on the Market Next March.

Nokia Company intends to launch its first smartphone running Android operating system, and expected to be called "Nokia X", in the markets during March 2014. 

A news report mention that the company will launch a new smartphone within "Asha" series, which is low-cost phones offered by the company for emerging markets in particular.

Nokia did not give any information about the technical specifications of the new smartphone, but the device is expected to launch within the category of medium-spec phones.

Nokia intends support its new smartphone with 4 inch screen with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels, 5 megapixel camera, and a battery capacity of 1500 mAh.

It is expected that the phone will has 1 GHz dual-core processor,  512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of memory storage expandable via external memory card.

Nokia studying to provide the phone with special application store, where the phone will has modified version of Android operating system added to it some characteristics similar to the characteristics of the Windows Phone operating system, as the company intends to put it at a low price and the possibility of installing Dual SIM cards.

Google Officially Announced the Latest Version of Android OS "KitKat 4.4"

Google has officially announced the latest version of Android operating system which carries the name KitKat 4.4,  the announcement happened after the disclosure of its new official smartphone "Nexus 5".

  

The most important feature in this update is the "Immersive Mode", which is new mode in the Android operating system particularly useful in reading books, playing games and watching video, where this mode automatically hides everything on the screen, such as bar alerts and navigation bar to allow the largest possible area of screen.

  

Google also aim of this update is to make the Android platform more accessible to all categories of users, Google said on its blog that some low specifications of Android phones cannot take advantage of modern versions of the operating system due to the limited memory, but with Android 4.4 Google has reduced the space needed of RAM, where it canceled some of the services that are running in the background, and reduce memory consumption for some of the features that are used on a permanent basis.

  

Google did not reduce memory consumption on the operating system level, but also extended to include all services and applications such as Google Chrome and YouTube, Now, because of these improvements Android can now work comfortably on devices that have 512 MB ​​of RAM.

  

In this new update, Google added improvements on NFC technology, new platform for printing allows developers to add a new option within their applications allows printing from the phone to wireless printers or via cloud printing services such as Google Cloud Print.

  

The new update provided improved possibilities for developers to develop SMS applications better and more integrated with Android, and it added support for new set of sensors with low power consumption, such as finder steps and counter steps.

Google has officially unveiled its new smartphone which carries the name "Nexus 5”, which runs the recent Android 4.4 Kit Kat operating system.
